With its enchanting medieval arched undercroft, gardens and pond, Nettlestead Place near Maidstone is surely one of Kent’s most romantic historic Houses. In spring, the water in its natural and canalised streams meanders down to the River Medway, filling the gardens with movement and sound, whilst thousands of naturalised daffodils and primulas, which have quite possibly been blooming in the garden’s lawns for more than 100 years, add to the delightful scene.
